*In What Cases Are My Self-Interests More Important Than Others's Sufferings?

Truly, this is a really difficult question for me to answer.  I guess the only scenario I can come up with has to do with money.  For instance, if I haven't eaten all day long and I cross paths with a homeless man, and I have two dollars in my pocket the righteous thing for me to do would be to give this man my money.  However, because it'll be in my self-interest to satisfy my hunger I guarantee that ninety-five percent of the time (if I'm that starving) I will feed myself over feeding a homeless person.  Call me an asshole or even rude, but that's just the type of person I am.
